There Was a Child

This is a large scale cantata in memory of Robert van Allan that was first performed at the Norwich & Norfolk Festival 2009. It includes settings of verses from Traherne’s ‘Eden’ and ‘On Leaping over the Moon’, as well as from Walt Whitman, Charles Causley, Langston Hughes, Wordsworth, Keats, Emily Dickinson and others.
