Easter Stanzas

The work is scored for soprano and orchestra and takes its text from Traherne’s Centuries of Meditations. It was commissioned by the London Bach Society and first performed at The Queen Elizabeth Hall on 25th March 1972 with Wendy Eathorne (soprano) and the London Bach Society, conducted by the composer.

The piece was composed in 1971, a revised version appearing in 1978.
